Jennifer Rene Psaki
Jennifer Rene Psaki is a American political adviser who served as the 34th White House news secretary between 2021 and 221. A member of Democratic Party she has previously been a part of the Obama administration as White House deputy press secretary (2009), White House assistant communications director (2009–2011), the spokesperson of the United States Department of State(2013-2015) and White House communication director (2015–2017). Psaki contributed to CNN's political coverage of 2017 to 2020. Psaki started her career in 2001 when she worked on the re-election campaigns for Iowa Democrats Tom Harkin for the U.S. Senate and Tom Vilsack for governor. Psaki was later appointed as the press secretary's deputy in John Kerry's 2004 presidential race. Psaki served from 2005 to 2006 as the communications director of Joseph Crowley, U.S. representative, as well as as the regional press secretary to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Psaki returned to politics in 2012 and was the press secretary of President Obama's 2012 campaign. 20 February 13th, 2013, Psaki was appointed spokesperson for the United States Department of State. [20] It was speculated that she was to replace Jay Carney as White House Press Secretary.[21However, Josh Earnest was announced to succeed Carney on May 30th in 2014. In 2015, she was recalled to the White House as communications director and was there until the end of the Obama administration.
