Kyra Minturn

 Kyra Minturn, born on August 19 1965 was an American actress. She is also a producer and director. She is most famous for her role as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the TNT crime drama The Closer. In her role as Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in 2010. Following the conclusion of the seventh season the show was cancelled on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick is also known for her recurring role on Brooklyn Nine-Nine as Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick received an Golden Globe nomination for her performance as Madeline Wuntch in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's roles in other films include Oliver Stone's Born of the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's Ones (1992) as well as Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996) and What's cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2013). Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald who was Speech and Family Therapist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV who was a venture capitalist. Her birthplace was in New York City. Her mother was Jewish and her father was an Episcopalian and of English descent. Sedgwick has publicly declared her Jewish heritage and has said she is a part of Passover seders.
